It’s not a flashy in-season move, but the Detroit Tigers did make a minor trade with the Milwaukee Brewers landing journeyman minor-leaguer Jamie Westbrook in exchange for cash considerations.
Westbrook was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the fifth round of the 2013 MLB Draft and has made it as high as the Triple-A level. The 27-year-old will report to the Toledo Mud Hens, the Tigers’ Triple-A affiliate.
Westbrook also played for Team USA during this past summer’s Olympic Games in Tokyo hitting .182 in five games with a homer and four runs batted in.
