Lions Take Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson At #2 Overall, Trade Up To Select Alabama’s Jameson Williams At #12 Overall

When Detroit Lions General Manager Brad Holmes says that his team is “open for business,” you better believe he means that.

During last night’s first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Lions utilized their first pick in the round on what they deemed as the best player available by selecting a hometown product in Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson with the #2 overall pick.

Just when you thought it was going to be awhile before the Lions picked again at #32 overall to end the first round, Brad Holmes and company made their move in making a deal with divisional foe Minnesota to climb up to the #12 overall selection.

With that #12 pick, the Lions went with more speed in taking Alabama’s Jameson Williams, who is currently coming off a torn ACL injury sustained back in January.

As we now head into the weekend with rounds two through seven, here’s how the Lions currently stack up in terms of where they’re slated to pick for the remainder of the draft:
