Tuesday, August 30th at 4 pm was the designated deadline for all 32 NFL teams to submit their 53-player roster prior to the season-opening week.

In total, 26 players from the Lions preseason roster were either released and waived. For now, it appears that David Blough will be the Lions’ backup quarterback to Jared Goff following the release of Tim Boyle.
The Lions open up the 2022 season at home against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, September 11th at 1 pm.
