Well, enter Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, a rising star within the NFL coaching circles that had many teams with open head coaching vacancies interested in his services.
But wait, there’s a big time plot twist:
In his first season as Lions offensive coordinator, the 36-year-old constructed an offense that ranked third in the league in total offense (6,460 yards), fifth in points per game (26.6), and fourth in touchdowns (54).
