NFL Draft: Michigan with nine players drafted, MSU gets three selected

The 2023 NFL Draft saw numerous players with in-state ties picked over the course of seven rounds that included nine Michigan Wolverines taken:

– DT Mazi Smith – 26th overall (Dallas Cowboys)
– TE Luke Schoonmaker – 58th overall (Dallas Cowboys)
– CB D.J. Turner – 60th overall (Cincinnati Bengals)
– K Jake Moody – 99th overall (San Francisco 49ers)
– DE Mike Morris – 151st overall (Seattle Seahawks)
– C Olu Oluwatimi – 154th overall (Seattle Seahawks)
– P Brad Robbins – 217th overall (Cincinnati Bengals)
– OT Ryan Hayes – 238th overall (Miami Dolphins)
– WR Ronnie Bell – 253rd overall (San Francisco 49ers)

In regards to the Michigan State Spartans, they had a trio of players taken in the NFL Draft:

– WR Jayden Reed – 50th overall (Green Bay Packers)
– P Bryce Baringer – 192nd overall (New England Patriots)
– CB Ameer Speed – 214th overall (New England Patriots)

Immediately following the draft, many Wolverines and Spartans agreed to undrafted free agent contracts with the teams of their choosing:
