Since we last left you, the Detroit Tigers have played some pretty darn good baseball over the past two weeks as they now sit at 18-21 overall and in third-place in the American League Central, a half game back of the Cleveland Guardians for second and four games behind the first-place Minnesota Twins.
The Tigers have gone 8-4 in their past twelve contests that includes a home three-game sweep of the New York Mets and taking two of three on the road from both the St. Louis Cardinals and Cleveland Guardians before stubbing their toes briefly over the weekend dropping two of three at home to the Seattle Mariners.
Again, the Tigers continue to do some damage against teams outside of the American League East:
vs. AL East = 2-14
vs. Anyone Else = 16-7
The main individual storyline for Detroit has been the resurgence of Eduardo Rodriguez, who has been virtually unhittable of late.
Here’s what’s on tap this week for the Tigers:
Tuesday & Wednesday: vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (Comerica Park)
Friday-Sunday: at Washington Nationals (Nationals Park)
