Red Wings promote Kris Draper to Assistant GM and Director of Amateur Scouting

Kris Draper continues to climb up the Detroit Red Wings front office.

From starting as special assistant to the general manager under Ken Holland following retirement to director of amateur scouting, Draper can now add assistant general manager in front of his current scouting role.

Draper played for the Red Wings from 1993-2011 after being traded from the team that drafted him in 1989, the Winnipeg Jets, in 1993 for just $1.
