It’s hard to sum up the 2023 Detroit Tigers in just a few words.
Just when you think this team is ready to go on at least a modest winning streak, they go into the “one step forward, two steps back” zone.
However, even after dropping two of three over the weekend at home to the San Diego Padres, the Tigers did amass a winning week of 4-3 courtesy of winning three of four on the road against the Kansas City Royals to kick off last week.
The positives from the past were Riley Greene and Spencer Torkelson, who are starting to (slowly) form a nice one-two punch near the top of the batting order.
Currently, the Tigers still sit in third in the American League Central at 45-54 overall and seven games back of the suddenly surging first-place Minnesota Twins.
It’s looking like the Tigers will definitely be sellers at the approaching trade deadline.
Here’s who the Tigers have this coming week that includes no days off and seven games in seven days:
Monday: vs. San Francisco Giants (Comerica Park)
Tuesday-Thursday: vs. Los Angeles Angels (Comerica Park)
Friday-Sunday: at Miami Marlins (LoanDepot Park)
