University of Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh, along with three assistants, are working with the NCAA toward a resolution that could see Harbaugh suspended for four games based on false statements made to investigators regarding recruiting violations.
Two current assistants in Sherone Moore and Grant Newsome are looking at one game suspensions, while former defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, now with the Baltimore Ravens in the same role, will receive a one-year show-cause penalty.
If the suspension is approved by the NCAA Committee on Infractions before the season begins, Harbaugh will miss games against East Carolina (9/2), UNLV (9/9), Bowling Green (9/16), and Rutgers (9/23) all at home.
