Tigers Weekly Report: Middle of Nowhere

As we hit the end of July and the beginning of August, the Detroit Tigers find themselves in the middle of nowhere following an underwhelming 2-5 week that began on a positive note with a makeup home win over the San Francisco Giants, but then, the wheels came off (again) as the Los Angeles Angels swept the Tigers in three at Comerica Park followed by Detroit traveling down to Miami and losing two of three to the Marlins.

Now, the Tigers sit at 47-59 overall and in third in the lackluster American League Central, 6.5 games behind the first-place Minnesota Twins.

The highlight from the week was Miguel Cabrera’s return to Miami for the final time, and he put on quite the show in front of the organization that he signed with back in the day as a teenager.

Here’s who the Tigers have coming up as we continue along with the “Dog Days of Summer”:

Tuesday & Wednesday: at Pittsburgh Pirates (PNC Park)
Friday-Sunday: vs. Tampa Bay Rays (Comerica Park)
