Tigers’ Eduardo Rodriguez nixes late trade deadline deal with the Dodgers, will stay in Detroit

Scott Harris and the Detroit Tigers did have a late trade deadline deal in place with the Los Angeles Dodgers that involved starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez, but there was one big thing that kept the trade from happening….

The 30-year-old Rodriguez reportedly had a ten-team no-trade clause that apparently included the Dodgers, so the deal was officially squashed.

The native of Venezuela will remain in Detroit through at least the end of this season after no Plan B trade was executed by Scott Harris.

Rodriguez has three years left on his current five-year, $77 million contract but can opt out of it after this season.
