Tigers Weekly Report: Wins Are Never Easy

It doesn’t matter who the Detroit Tigers are playing this season….wins do not come easy with this baseball team.

Case in point, the Tigers concluded their final road trip of the 2023 season with a 6-4 West Coast swing against the Los Angeles Angels (three-game sweep), Los Angeles Dodgers (lost two of three), and Oakland Athletics (split a four-game series).

It was a winning road trip overall for the Tigers but a losing 3-4 week after struggling against the Dodgers and Athletics.

With a week to go in the season, Detroit sits at 73-83 overall and officially out of playoff contention but only a half game back of the second-place Cleveland Guardians with a game in hand. The Minnesota Twins have officially locked up the American League Central Division crown.

The big storyline from this past week was Tarik Skubal’s continued dominance on the mound:

Here’s who the Tigers have lined up this coming week during the final week of the season:

Tuesday-Thursday: vs. Kansas City Royals (Comerica Park)
Friday-Sunday: vs. Cleveland Guardians (Comerica Park)
