Lions rebound defensively, overwhelm Falcons to pick up first home win of the season

The Detroit Lions defense needed to step up in a big way following their disappointing home-opening performance against the Seattle Seahawks, and did they ever step up.

All the defense did was rack up seven sacks, eleven tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery to go with allowing only 44 yards rushing in a two-touchdown win over the visiting Atlanta Falcons.

Next up for the now 2-1 Lions is a short turnaround and a date with the 2-1 Green Bay Packers up at historic Lambeau Field on Thursday night 8:15 pm with first-place in the early season NFC North race on the line.
