Tigers continue series-winning ways to stay in the early thick of A.L. Central race

This past week for the Detroit Tigers saw a couple of series victories over the Tampa Bay Rays (road) and Kansas City Royals (home) to push their series winning streak to three in a row and push their overall mark to 16-12 and stay just a few games back of the first-place Cleveland Guardians heading into the second full month of the 2024 regular season.

Following a 4-2 week, the Tigers are three games back of Cleveland for first in the American League Central and only a half game behind second-place Kansas City.

The pitching continues to be strong as a whole with Tarik Skubal continuing to emphatically provide his early case for the A.L. Cy Young Award as his ERA currently sits at a sparkling 1.72.

Also, a Tigers newcomer continues to prove his worth since getting called up to the Major League level.

This week, Detroit hosts the St. Louis Cardinals for three games Monday-Wednesday followed by a trip to the Bronx for a three-game road set against the New York Yankees.
