Even though they’re still lacking talent in many areas, this season’s Detroit Tigers team continues to show fight, especially when it comes to facing their American League Central rivals.
This past week saw the Tigers battle the top two teams in the division in the Cleveland Guardians (road) and Minnesota Twins (home), which resulted in a below .500 week at 3-4 after splitting four game in Cleveland followed by dropping two of three at home against Minnesota.
Now, the Tigers sit at 52-55 overall and 12 games behind first-place Cleveland in the A.L. Central, but they’re still within shouting distance of a Wild Card spot currently 5.5 games back of Kansas City with 55 games left to play.

This week, the Tigers continue their stretch against A.L. Central foes with a brief two-game home series against the Guardians on Monday and Tuesday followed by four games this weekend at Comerica Park against the Kansas City Royals on Thursday-Sunday.
