Detroit Tigers pitcher Keider Montero has been named by Major League Baseball (MLB) as the American League Player of the Week for his pair of outings last week at home against the Colorado Rockies and Baltimore Orioles.
This season, the 24-year-old Montero has pitched in 16 games with the Tigers (15 starts) compiling a 6-6 record to go with a 4.60 ERA, 66 strikeouts, and only 27 walks.
