The #2-ranked Grand Valley State Football team wrapped up non-conference action this past Saturday against another Division II perennial power in the #20th-ranked West Florida Argonauts in a Top 25 matchup and the first all-time meeting between the two programs.
After a tight first half that saw the Lakers take a 14-7 lead into the halftime locker room, GVSU went on to outscore the Argos 17-0 in the second half, all in the third quarter, to pull away with a 31-7 victory to improve to 4-0 overall on the season.
From an individual standpoint, sophomore running back Khalil Eichelberger was named by the GLIAC as the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for his performance on the ground in the win:
