Lions’ Jake Bates lands NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors

Detroit Lions kicker Jake Bates, the hero in last Sunday’s road victory over the Minnesota Vikings, has been named by the National Football League (NFL) as the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week following his 4-for-4 extra point performance, and oh yeah, this game-winning kick that sealed the 31-29 win for the road team:

Through six games this season, the 25-year-old rookie has made 20 of his 21 extra point attempts and is a perfect 10-for-10 on field goal kicks with his longest being from 48 yards.
