The Detroit Red Wings struck a trade late Tuesday night in sending defenseman Olli Maatta to the Utah Hockey Club in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
In his two-plus seasons with the Red Wings, the 30-year-old Maatta skated in 157 games totaling 10 goals and 31 assists to go with a plus-five rating.
This season, the native of Finland appeared in seven games with no points totaled.
