#6 GVSU thumps Wayne State to keep the Wooden Shoes Trophy in Allendale

The #6-ranked Grand Valley State Football team took to Lubbers Stadium for the final time in the 2024 regular season looking bounce back from the previous week’s setback against rival Ferris State while keeping the Wooden Shoes Trophy in Allendale against their east side counterpart in the winless Wayne State Warriors.

In his first collegiate start at quarterback, Vincenzo Meschi was able to perform to the level of earning GLIAC individual honors:

With the victory, the Lakers improved their overall mark to 8-1 and 4-1 in GLIAC play with two games remaining in the regular season.

This Saturday, GVSU makes the trip up to the Upper Peninsula all the way to Houghton to battle the 6-3 Michigan Tech Huskies at noon.
