Lions roar back in second half, shock Texans to win seventh straight contest

The Detroit Lions took to the bright lights of Sunday Night Football this past weekend down in Houston against the Texans looking to keep their winning streak alive while maintaining pace atop the NFC North.

After falling behind 23-7 at halftime and having Jared Goff throw a career-high five interceptions, the Lions were still able to find a way to win another game as Jake Bates provided more kicking heroics late booting a game-tying 58-yard field goal with 5:01 remaining and game-winning 52-yard field goal with no time left on the lock to stun the host Texans and claim a 26-23 road victory to improve to 8-1 on the season.

Here’s an updated look at the NFC North standings through ten weeks of the 2024 season:

Detroit Lions – 8-1 (2-0 NFC North)
Minnesota Vikings – 7-2 (1-1 NFC North)
Green Bay Packers – 6-3 (0-2 NFC North)
Chicago Bears – 4-5 (0-0 NFC North)

This Sunday, the Lions return to Ford Field in downtown Detroit for a 1 pm kickoff against the struggling 2-8 Jacksonville Jaguars.
